Sending messages
Create your message
Producing your next email couldn’t be easier. Use the send out work stream to create, test and personalise your message for delivery. There are five ways you can produce the perfect message:
Plain text
Sending a message with text only can be an effective way of getting your message across. Messages appear like you have sent them from your own personal email address with little formatting, graphics and no HTML. Choose this method for personal or academic style emails coupled with the benefits of using our email marketing system.
Rich text
Similar to plain text emails, rich text email allows you to have a little more control over the formatting. Add images, font changes and embedded hyperlinks to create a typical personal email.
Template
Choose from a range of standard templates available to send your message or use your own personalised templates for send out. Editing templates is easy with the WYSIWYG editor, images are easily added and hyperlinks created. Personalised and technical elements can be added to your email with little technical knowledge required.
Web page
Capture a website page in real-time and email it out. It’s as simple as that. Our system will automatically map all images for you and send in an email-compliant format.
Raw HTML
The most popular method of sending email marketing messages. This completely customisable method allows you to create and send an email in HTML code. Add a plain text alternative for recipients who can’t / don’t want to receive HTML. Our system will automatically host and map all the images that make up the email.
Header and footer
You can create default header and footer content that sandwiches all emails on send out. Link to an online version of the email in the header with an unsubscribe link in the footer. Other features include links to our ‘trusted sender’ content and ‘we sent the email to...’ .
Personalise your message
Personalisation is key to message delivery. Messages with personalised content are far more likely to be opened. Add personalised tags into your email such and subject line to create relevancy and click through. Reference the clients name in the subject field and add footer content such as ‘we sent this email to...’ . There are more that 100 personalised elements available to add to your emails.
Test your message
Test, test and test again. Once you have composed your message and you are happy with it, use the preview facility to view the message online and send it out to your test group for review. Test the email in different web and desktop email clients to ensure compatibility on delivery.
There is also a spam score tool which will give your email a ‘likely to be considered spam’ count. The lower the count, the less likely your mail is to be blocked as spam.
Send your message
Once you are happy with your message it’s time to send it. Nominate with contact list(s) or segmented group(s) you want to send the email to and proceed to send the message. You can send the message immediately, or allocate a date and time to send the message. This can prove particularly useful if you wish your message to be delivered at a particular time or to a particular audience in a different timezone, for example.
When sending a scheduled message, you can cancel the send-out at any time up to 10 minutes before send.
Deliverability
Ensure that your email gets past the junk mail filters, spam checkers and firewalls and into the inbox. Capital Clicks ensures that all subscribers are opted in to receive marketing messages from you to ensure no complaints from recipients. Our spam score checker built into the compose message process ensures that your email won’t be blocked and automatic content such as ‘trusted sender’ instructions, unsubscribe links and ‘we sent this message to...’ content all helps get into the inbox.
RSS
As well as sending your messages as email, you can also post an RSS feed on your site using our system automatically. Embed the RSS feed in your site using a one-line code addition.
